Comfort Inn & Suites Lake Norman

First off, Joe El? not sure if I spelled correctly, but he was working the desk at check in (9pm) and he was extremely friendly; room was a business suite so it had 2 queen beds and a separate sitting area/desk/tv ; the couch pulled into a sofa bed with a nice pillow top mattress on it. The room temp was easily controlled and no issues; everything was clean; we had a view of the pool and it looked clean and refreshing, but we did not use it. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, sausage, eggs, biscuits, waffles, cereals, bagels, juices and coffee. Within walking distance to a local restaurant that had good food.

I was not expecting much when I arrived but staff was incredibly cheerful, accommodating to our needs and attentive. Room was perfect for our needs. Temperature was perfect. Cable was great. Shower was hot. beds were comfortable. The Couch bed was a standard Hide a bed, so that mattress was acceptable. If adults need to sleep on that mattress, I would suggest just adding another room. Breakfast in the morning was great. It had a large selection for everyones needs. It included eggs, sausage, cereal, and breads with spread and juices and coffee. Everything was filling and tasty. We were happy to stay here and it definitely helped our trip since we cut our travel down to a manageable drive. There is also a Restaurant within walking distance which was delicious and filling and the staff was very accommodating. In the morning walking to our minivan the flowers outside smelled really nice. It was an absolutely beautiful day and I was well rested for our 8 hour drive home which would have been at least 16 if we didn't stay here. This review may be a little corney, but I wanted to pay it forward for the very cheerful staff who made my stay for my family very enjoyable.

Had a decent stay. Was charged hotel and tax fees on pet fee. I travel often and have never seen that. What was supposed to be a $25 pet fee ended up being $31 and change. Plus I was charged an additional $2 and change for something else. All together there were three separate charges. Not that great of an area to walk the dog. They did put me on the first floor close to the door so that was good. Comfortable room and quiet. Just watch out for hidden fees.

The coffee at breakfast was delicious. thats all I had. The front desk staff were very nice. Room was clean and access to the room was easy. I was disappointed on arrival that they didn't know I had a pet so they had to find a different room for me. That is on Booking.com. Although I had searched specifically for a pet friendly hotel, I guess Booking doesn't inform the hotel that a pet is coming. Front desk Linda took care of everything. Also, there is a $25.00 fee for pets that Booking.com doenst tell you about

Location! Location! Location! The room was perfect. Clean. Bed was so comfortable. And, I love the bed pillows. Clean bathroom. Unfortunately I did not use the breakfast conveniences, as I had breakfast meetings. My room was right next to the elevator ~ I did not hear the elevator noise or other guests using it.
